    An ALMOST Roast to Benefit Blue Lotus – MARCH 25
    Bink Steinbach and friends to host a virtual fundraiser for Blue Lotus Farm & Retreat Center

    West Bend, WI (February 25, 2021) – Bink Steinbach, a well-known resident of the West Bend community, has graciously agreed to host a virtual fundraiser to benefit Blue Lotus Farm and Retreat Center (BLFRC). The event, the Annual Blue Lotus (Almost) Roast, will take place on Thursday, March 25, 2021, at 7:00 PM via Zoom.

    Just in time...when no one can’t bear the thought of binging one more episode...it’s Bink and Blue Lotus to the rescue! Everyone can break the chains of our flat screens by arising to join other sleepy souls for a madcap virtual event – with a dash of amusing trivia!

    It is guaranteed to be a hilarious and enjoyable event with Bink and his friends Andrew Gonring, Paul Steinbach, and Mike Paul. Normally in March BLFRC would hold one of their biggest fundraisers of the year, a Roast, but due to the pandemic, are not able to. These four heroes have agreed to host an ALMOST Roast, an entertaining event until next year when BLFRC can have an in-person event.  

    BLFRC is a nonprofit that provides an accessible, natural setting for nonprofit groups, individuals, and businesses. Their main goal is serve those with profound challenges, enabling individuals to benefit from the outdoors and its many inspiring activities such as fishing, swimming, and canoeing.

    While we’re impatiently waiting to host an in-the-flesh Roast of a distinguished community member in 2022, this year we’ve got the next best thing: a virtual fundraiser, trivia, and more.

    The Thrill Ride of an Evening Includes:
    • An Entertaining evening hosted by the frolicsome foursome of Bink Steinbach (2020 honoree), Mike Paul, Paul Steinbach, and Andy Gonring.
    • A short round of Trivia — top three winners will be awarded the coveted West Bend Prize Package! Participation is optional. You will certainly still enjoy the evening either way. Be warned - this is our first attempt at trivia – all in the name of fun.
    • Auction! Auction! Because watching all those famous faces has got you jonesing to see your name in lights, Blue Lotus is offering the rare opportunity to WIN NAMING RIGHTS (for one year) to prominent Blue Lotus landmarks like the Watering Hole, the Special Delivery Metal Box, the Never-Ending Driveway, and more! A complete list of 10 Exciting Naming Opportunities will be provided with your program.
    Bink Steinbach owned and operated a small pub and eatery called the Binkery in the early 1980’s. He then went on to become a realtor for First Weber. He also owns a tree farm and is a board member of the West Bend Public Schools Foundation.

    “We are truly grateful for Bink, Paul, Mike, and Andy who are helping us out during a difficult situation,” said Jacqueline Janz, BLFRC Executive Director. “Our Annual Roast is one of our biggest fundraisers; we operate on support from the community and rely on this event. We know everyone could use a hearty laugh after the harsh winter.”

    Blue Lotus Farm & Retreat Center
    Since 2002, Blue Lotus Farm & Retreat Center, a 501c3 nonprofit, has provided accessible recreational and therapeutic opportunities for individuals of all ages living with profound physical, developmental, cognitive, emotional, or mental health challenges. The center is located in West Bend and is also available to individuals and businesses looking for a natural setting for well-being or work retreats. At Blue Lotus, there are many opportunities to rejuvenate the mind and spirit by immersing in the beautiful setting and outdoor activities on the 64-acre property. There are hiking trails, in-ground pool, four-acre pond, kayaks & canoes, pavilion space, campfire for roasting marshmallows, and so much more. Individuals leave feeling empowered, encouraged, and joyful.
